The project aims to provide a secure email service to government agencies using unique agency names with the gov.ph suffix hosted in a central server for added security. This government-wide email system (GovMail) will minimize, if not eliminate, the use of free web-based email services offered by the third-party providers such as Google and Yahoo for official communications. It will give government offices and personnel a credible online identity, especially when communication with the public.

  • completed procurement of 25,000 accounts to accommodate more users
  • 39 agencies availed the service, with 9506 issued accounts
