The Integrated Government Philippines (iGovPhil) Project will hold a two-day public consultation on policies that will govern its platform components, i.e., National Government Portal, Philippine eGovernment Interoperability Framework, and Government Common Platform.

All interested parties are welcome to take part in the event, called Platform-Related Policy Consultation, from 8 August (Monday) to 9 August 2016 (Tuesday) at the Audio Visual Room of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Building, C.P. Garcia Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.

Platform Components Overview

The event will be a discussion and forum on the policies produced in support of the following iGov platform components:

The National Government Portal (NGP). The NGP aims to unify government content and services into an easy to use single-sign on platform. It has four support policies: the Social Media Policy (SMP), Uniform Web Content Policy (UWCP), Government-wide Accessibility Guidelines (AG), and the DNS Policy.

The Philippine eGovernment Interoperability Framework (PeGIF). It is a set of policies, principles and guidelines for achieving interoperability in government. Interoperability will allow the government to exchange data in a uniform and efficient manner among the different agencies. The PeGIF is made up of three main domains: technology standards, information interoperability, and business process interoperability. These domains cover the best practices and security measures necessary to achieve interoperability.

The Government Common Platform (GCP). The GCP is the government’s platform for data exchange and sharing. Through this initiative, government agencies will be able to use and contribute information in a secure, reliable and standardized manner. This will also enable the government to make better decisions through the access of up-to-date and contextually relevant information.
