Agencies wanting to avail of cloud technology are invited to join the orientation on Government Cloud (GovCloud), the Integrated Government Philippines (iGovPhil) announced.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), through its iGovPhil Program, is conducting a “caravan” to introduce the GovCloud and the benefits of using cloud technology to government agencies in Mindanao. The orientation will be held on June 15-16 at the Pinnacle Hotel in Davao City and on June 19 at the Mallberry Suites in Cagayan de Oro.
The orientation seminars in Davao and Cagayan de Oro are the first stop of a series of GovCloud caravans around Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Through this initiative, the iGovPhil aims to educate agencies on the importance of using cloud technology and encourage them to avail of the government’s cloud services.
The GovCloud provides a complete cloud solution to reduce costs and improve the overall operational efficiency of the government. It was relaunched on 28 March 2017 to expand its services and accommodate the demand from other government agencies.
The DICT Circular No. 2017-02 or the “Cloud First Policy” mandates state departments, offices, and agencies to use scalable and on-demand cloud computing to provide better and more efficient services to citizens.
Government agencies that are interested in joining the orientation may contact Ms. Gigi Garcia through email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
