The Integrated Government Philippines (iGovPhil) program is an essential element in the implementation of the eGovernment Master Plan (eGMP), which aims to improve processes in government to provide better services to both citizens and businesses, as well as promote public participation. This program was conceptualized in June 2012 and jointly implemented by the Department of Science and Technology’s Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO) and the Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI). With the enactment of Republic Act 10844 in June 2016, the DOST-ICTO was abolished and its functions absorbed by the newly created Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). The iGovPhil, now jointly managed and operated by the DICT and DOST-ASTI, is tasked to provide the necessary infrastructure, platform, applications and services needed for effective and transparent e-governance.
