The Open Data Philippines held a series of two-day Data Storytelling and Visualization workshops for government agencies on 16-17 November and 22-23 November 2017 at the Hive Hotel and Convention Place in Quezon City.

The workshops were attended by representatives from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PHILGEPS) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The resource speakers, Gabriel Baleos and Gianne Gaoiran, discussed techniques, styles, and tips on creating and improving visualized data. At the end of the workshops, participants were able to create their own visualized data with meaningful insights and supported data-driven decision-making.

The Open Data Philippines plans to host more workshops to assist government agencies in processing and visualizing government datasets.
