Project managers of the Information and Communications Technology Office (ICT Office) of the Department of Science and Technology gathered together recently to learn how to use a newly developed application that will make their jobs easier.

Called the Government Project Management Information System or PMGov, the application enables users to collaborate and work with each other every step of the way: from initiation to planning and design, execution, monitoring and evaluation, to closing.

The training, held on 4 July 2014, was attended by 22 personnel who manage, handle and supervise the ICT Office’s projects.

Among these projects are Development of ICT Career Path in Govt Project, DigiEFund Implementation Project, Digital Literacy for the Special Needs Sector, Institutional Building of CIO Corps, Technology for Economic Development Project, Training Administration and Management Activities, TV White Space Technologies Adoption Project, Cyber Safety Advocacy and Promotion Project, and Digital Literacy for the Special Needs Sector.

During the training, the participants were given a walkthrough of the whole system. They discussed how to create a project and accomplish the logical framework approach, as well as how to add users, tasks, modules and track time and tasks.
